Erie International Airport (ERI), also known as Tom Ridge Field, traces its roots to the late 1920s and operates from a single terminal as the primary regional gateway for northwest Pennsylvania. Small but strategically important, ERI handles commercial, charter and general aviation traffic and sits about six miles from downtown Erie with easy access via I‑90, taxis, rideshares, rental cars and regional bus connections. Travelers appreciate its low congestion and generally affordable parking and airport fees, though airfares can be higher due to limited nonstop routes. ERI is not a major carrier hub but is regularly served by regional affiliates of American, Delta and United plus seasonal low-cost carriers.
