CYKF
Region of Waterloo International Airport opened in the 1930s and today operates a single passenger terminal as a compact but strategically important regional airport serving Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge and nearby Guelph. The airport punches above its size with regular regional flights and charter services, offering a convenient, lower-stress alternative to Toronto Pearson for travelers in southwestern Ontario. It’s easily reached by car via Highway 401/7 and local shuttle and transit links, typically a 20–30 minute drive from downtown Kitchener–Waterloo. Generally more affordable than larger hubs, YKF hosts regional carriers and low-cost operators such as Air Canada regional services, WestJet and discount airlines on select routes.
