Pearson International Airport, opened in 1939 and located in Mississauga about 22 km northwest of downtown Toronto, is Canada’s busiest airport and a major North American international gateway. The airport has two main passenger terminals (Terminals 1 and 3) serving a mix of domestic and long-haul flights, with extensive cargo facilities. Accessibility is excellent: the 25-minute Union Pearson Express links directly to Union Station, while GO Transit, regional buses and highways 401/427 provide road access. Pearson is a primary hub for Air Canada and a significant base for WestJet, and although parking and on-site services can be pricey, plentiful carriers and low-cost options often make airfares competitive.
