Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), originally opened in 1983 and rebuilt with a modern single-terminal complex in 2013, is Jordan’s largest international gateway and the primary entry point for Amman and the Dead Sea region. The airport operates one main passenger terminal with multiple concourses, handling regional and long-haul traffic and serving as the hub for Royal Jordanian. Located about 30 km south of downtown Amman, QAIA is linked by the Queen Alia Highway, scheduled shuttle buses, taxis, car rental desks and ride‑hailing services for easy transfers; prices at shops and restaurants tend to be mid-range, though budget options and low-cost carriers make flying into AMM affordable for many travelers.
