Nestled on the city’s northern waterfront, the airport was a short taxi or bus ride—typically 10–20 minutes—from downtown Tel Aviv, though it lacked a direct rail link. Operations ceased in 2019 to make way for redevelopment, so travelers now use Ben Gurion or Ramon airports for domestic routes; historically fares were competitive for short hops, but limited capacity could push up last‑minute prices.
