Olympic Air Baggage Rules
Olympic Air, a Greek airline headquartered in Athens, has specific baggage rules for passengers flying with them. These rules must be followed to ensure a hassle-free travel experience.
Luggage
The checked baggage allowance for passengers travelling with Olympic Air depends on the fare type and the aircraft. The maximum weight and size of each piece of baggage must not exceed 23 kg and 158 cm respectively. Extra fees are applied for additional pieces of baggage, oversized or overweight baggage. Passengers are advised to label their luggage with identification tags that include their name, phone number and address. The airline is not liable for any loss or damage to baggage that is not properly labelled.
Hand baggage
Passengers are allowed one piece of hand baggage and one personal item onboard the aircraft. The maximum weight of the hand baggage must not exceed 8 kg, while the personal item must be small enough to fit under the seat in front of the passenger. Pets are not allowed as hand luggage.
Excess or overweight baggage
Passengers who exceed the maximum weight or size limit for their checked baggage will be charged an excess baggage fee. The fee depends on the destination and the amount of excess weight or size. Passengers should also be aware that certain items are not allowed on board the flight, such as dangerous goods, liquids above 100 ml, and lithium batteries. If any of these items are found in baggage, passengers may be subject to fines and legal action. Additionally, any baggage that appears to be suspicious may be subject to further inspection by security personnel.
Items prohibited for carriage
Passengers should be aware that certain items are prohibited for carriage on Olympic Air flights. These items include but are not limited to: explosives, flammable liquids and solids, corrosives, radioactive materials, oxidizing materials, toxic and infectious substances, firearms, and ammunition. In addition, passengers should not carry items that are illegal in the country they are travelling to or from. Any passenger who attempts to carry these items may be subject to fines and legal action.
