Founded in 2013 as the Irish-based long‑haul subsidiary of Norwegian Air Shuttle, Norwegian Air International operated as a low-cost carrier offering transatlantic and intra-European services. Strengths included highly competitive fares, a modern Boeing 787 fleet, an extensive network with good value for price-conscious travelers and optional upgraded “premium” seating. Weaknesses included service inconsistency, numerous ancillary fees, occasional punctuality and reliability issues and vulnerability to financial restructuring.
