Founded in 2013, Dobrolet was a Russian low-cost carrier launched by Aeroflot to offer no-frills, low-fare services on domestic and nearby international routes. Advantages included very competitive pricing, streamlined operations and the backing of a major carrier; disadvantages were a limited route network, minimal onboard amenities, basic customer support and exposure to geopolitical risk—operations were suspended and the airline ceased in 2014 amid sanctions.
