Tuticorin Airport

Tuticorin Airport (TCR), also called Thoothukudi Airport and opened in the early 1990s, is a small regional airport with a single terminal serving southern Tamil Nadu and the port city of Thoothukudi. Though compact, it plays an important role for local business, cargo and pilgrim traffic, and sits about 16–20 km from Tuticorin city with regular bus and taxi links and easy access from nearby NH routes; Tirunelveli and Madurai are reachable by road. The airport is generally viewed as an affordable option for domestic travel, and is served by Indian carriers such as IndiGo and SpiceJet rather than acting as a major hub.
