Trivandrum International Airport, opened in the 1930s, is a medium-sized gateway serving Kerala’s capital and the state’s southern coast. The airport operates from a single integrated passenger terminal with separate domestic and international concourses, handling a mix of domestic and Gulf/Asian routes. Located about 6–8 km from downtown Thiruvananthapuram, it offers frequent city bus services, prepaid taxis, app-based cabs and easy road links to NH66 and nearby rail stations, making transfers convenient. Generally more affordable than larger metro hubs, it’s well served by low-cost carriers such as IndiGo and Air India Express and acts as a regional focus city for several operators.
