Now Shahr Airport

Now Shahr Airport opened in the mid-20th century and remains a compact regional gateway with a single passenger terminal serving Mazandaran’s Caspian coast. Although modest in size, the airport is important for seasonal tourism and domestic travel, offering regular flights to Tehran and other Iranian cities; international service is limited. The airport sits a short drive from Now Shahr city center and its beach resorts, with taxis, local buses and the nearby railway station providing easy onward connections into the Alborz foothills. Generally budget-friendly for travelers, Now Shahr is served by several domestic carriers (including Iran Air and regional airlines) rather than acting as a major airline hub.
