Imam Khomeini International Airport

Opened in 2004, Imam Khomeini International Airport is Tehran’s main international gateway, featuring two primary passenger terminals and large cargo facilities that make it one of Iran’s biggest airports. Situated roughly 30–45 km southwest of central Tehran in the Robat Karim area, the airport is reachable by express highways, regular airport shuttle buses, long‑distance coaches and taxis, while a metro/rail link has been planned and partially developed.
