Nagoya Airport (NKM), commonly called Komaki Airfield, opened in 1944 and today operates a single passenger terminal handling mainly domestic and regional flights. Once Nagoya’s primary airport until Chubu Centrair opened in 2005, NKM is a compact, convenient facility prized for business travel, pilot training and short-haul connections. Located about 15 km north of central Nagoya in Komaki, the airport is well served by frequent airport buses and local train connections that reach Nagoya Station in roughly 25–35 minutes. Fares are generally affordable thanks to regional competition, and the field serves as a base for Fuji Dream Airlines while hosting several domestic carriers.
