Klagenfurt Airport

Opened in the 1920s, Klagenfurt Airport is a compact regional gateway to Austria’s Carinthia region with a single terminal that handles mainly short-haul and seasonal traffic. As the closest airport to Klagenfurt city and the nearby lakes and ski resorts, it’s small but strategically important for holiday and business travelers. The airport is about a 10-minute drive to the city center and connects via regular city buses, shuttle services to Klagenfurt Hauptbahnhof and easy access to the A2 motorway, making transfers straightforward. Fares tend to be affordable on regional and low-cost routes, and while it isn’t a major hub, it hosts Austrian and other regional/seasonal carriers and charter services.
