DuPage Airport (DPA) in West Chicago, Illinois, established in the 1920s, is a compact but busy reliever general aviation field with a single terminal and several fixed-base operators (FBOs). Serving corporate jets, flight schools, air charters and medevac services, DPA plays an important role easing traffic at nearby O'Hare and Midway while remaining much smaller than Chicago’s commercial airports. Located roughly 25 miles west of downtown Chicago, it’s reachable via I‑88 and local roads; public transit is limited but Metra stations, shuttles, rideshares and rental cars provide connections to Naperville, Wheaton and the suburbs. Generally more affordable than major commercial airports, DuPage isn’t a commercial airline hub but is a base for private operators, charters and training schools.
