Dubrovnik Airport (Čilipi) first opened in 1962 and today operates from one main passenger terminal—modernized with a new terminal building in 2017—to handle a high seasonal flow of travelers to southern Dalmatia. As the primary gateway for Dubrovnik and the surrounding islands, it’s a medium-sized international airport popular in summer and linked to the city by frequent shuttle buses, scheduled public buses, taxis and private transfers, about 15–20 km from the Old Town. Prices tend to rise in peak season, though budget carriers fly many routes off-season; Croatia Airlines maintains year-round services while Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz Air operate heavy seasonal schedules.
