Dehra Dun Airport

Dehra Dun’s Jolly Grant Airport, commissioned in the 1990s and upgraded in the late 2000s, is a compact regional airport with a single terminal serving Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar as the main air gateway to Uttarakhand and the lower Himalayas. Lightweight but well-trafficked, it handles mainly domestic flights from low-cost carriers like IndiGo and SpiceJet alongside Air India services; it is not a major hub but is vital for pilgrimage and hill tourism. Located about 20–30 km from Dehra Dun city center, it’s connected by taxis, private transfers and occasional shuttle buses, and is generally considered budget-friendly for travelers.
