Benin City Airport, opened in the late 1970s, is a compact regional airport serving Nigeria’s Edo State with a single main terminal and essential passenger facilities; it plays an important role for domestic travel to nearby cities and oil industry sites. Located a short drive from Benin City’s center (roughly 10–15 minutes depending on traffic), the airport is well connected by road and local taxis, with occasional shuttle options to the city.
