Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, opened in 1967 and located in the Pudahuel district northwest of Santiago, is Chile’s largest airport and the main gateway to Patagonia, the Atacama and Easter Island. The complex has two main passenger terminals serving domestic and international flights and handles a mix of full-service and low-cost carriers. About 15 km from downtown Santiago, it’s well connected by frequent airport buses (TurBus/Centropuerto), taxis and car routes via Ruta 68, with ongoing public-transport upgrades planned. Generally priced in the mid-range for the region, the airport is a major hub for LATAM and a base for Sky Airline and JetSMART.
