Aarhus Airport

Aarhus Airport (AAR), originally opened in 1943, is a compact regional airport near Tirstrup serving Central Jutland with a single passenger terminal and a focus on efficient, no-fuss connections. Handling under a million travelers a year, it’s an important gateway for Aarhus and nearby towns, about 25 km from the city center and well linked by regular shuttle buses, regional coaches, taxis and rental cars via the E45 corridor. The airport is generally affordable for travelers, with competitive fares on regional and low‑cost routes. It also functions as a base for Danish regional carriers such as Danish Air Transport (DAT) and is served by Scandinavian and other European operators for domestic and short-haul flights.
