Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT), opened in 1977, is Sweden’s second-busiest airport and the main international gateway for the Gothenburg region, operating from a single passenger terminal with several piers. Comfortable in size but well-connected, Landvetter handles a mix of domestic flights and European services and is a key regional hub for Braathens (BRA) and an important base for Scandinavian and low-cost carriers such as SAS, Ryanair and Wizz Air. Located about 20–25 km east of central Gothenburg, it’s served by frequent airport coaches, regional buses, taxis and good road links; on-site prices can be higher, but strong carrier competition keeps airfares generally affordable for travelers.
