Founded in 2011, Volotea is a Spanish low-cost carrier offering point-to-point regional flights across Europe, with a focus on secondary and mid-sized airports in countries such as Italy, France, Greece and Spain. Advantages include competitive fares, direct connections between underserved city pairs and a nimble, seasonal route strategy that adds many short-haul links. Disadvantages include limited onboard comforts, widespread ancillary charges, a relatively small fleet and network compared with larger airlines, and mixed punctuality and customer-service reviews in peak periods.
