Founded in 2009, Viva Air is a Colombian low-cost carrier concentrating on domestic and short‑haul international routes across Latin America. Advantages include very low base fares, a simple single‑class product, a relatively young Airbus A320‑family fleet and straightforward point‑to‑point connectivity for budget travelers. Disadvantages are minimal complimentary onboard service, numerous ancillary fees for baggage and seat selection, limited interline/connecting options, mixed punctuality records and past financial and regulatory challenges. It operates as an LCC rather than a premium carrier and does not appear to hold an official Skytrax rating.
