Founded in 2005, Interjet was a Mexico-based carrier that positioned itself as a hybrid low-cost airline, combining budget fares with a higher-comfort product — wider seats and more legroom than many LCC competitors. Advantages included competitive pricing, a relatively modern fleet and a broad regional network across Mexico, the US and Latin America. Disadvantages involved recurring punctuality and service issues, operational disruptions and severe financial problems that led to suspension of operations in 2020. It does not have a widely recognized Skytrax rating.
