Founded in 2006, Arik Air is Nigeria’s largest carrier, operating an extensive domestic network and regional routes with selected international services. Advantages include wide domestic connectivity, competitive fares for the local market, a mixed fleet serving short and medium-haul routes and ancillary cargo operations. Disadvantages have included punctuality and reliability challenges, periodic route suspensions and past financial restructuring that affected consistency. The airline functions as a full-service operator with premium seating on some sectors and is not currently rated by Skytrax.
