Xinyang Minggang

Xinyang Minggang Airport (XAI) is a small regional airport serving Xinyang in Henan province that opened in the late 2010s and operates from a single modern terminal, making it easy to navigate for quick city connections. Although compact, the airport plays an important role for central China travelers by linking Xinyang with major domestic hubs; it’s typically served by carriers such as China Eastern, China Southern and Shenzhen Airlines rather than acting as a full-fledged hub. Located roughly 30–40 km from downtown Xinyang, Minggang is reachable by taxi, highway and local shuttle services, and is generally considered an affordable option for domestic flights and budget-conscious travelers.
