Urgench Airport

Urgench Airport (UGC), serving the Khorezm Region and the nearby UNESCO city of Khiva, opened in the 1970s and operates from one main terminal that handles both domestic and seasonal international flights. This small but important regional airport offers straightforward facilities and quick connections for tourists headed to Khiva or the Aral Sea, with taxis, private transfers and occasional shuttle links to Urgench and Khiva (about 30–40 km). Generally more affordable than larger Uzbek hubs, UGC is commonly served by Uzbekistan Airways and several regional carriers on scheduled and charter routes rather than functioning as a major airline hub.
