Nukus Airport

Nukus Airport opened in the Soviet era (built in the 1960s) and remains a small but important regional gateway for Karakalpakstan, operating from one main terminal that handles domestic and occasional international flights. Though compact, the airport connects Nukus with Tashkent and other Uzbek cities, with seasonal links to Russia, and is typically served by Uzbekistan Airways and smaller regional carriers. Located roughly 10–15 km from central Nukus, it’s accessible by taxi, private car and limited bus services, making transfers straightforward for budget-conscious travelers. Overall, Nukus Airport is modest in size and generally more affordable than major international hubs.
