Sao Jose Dos Campos

São José dos Campos Airport (SJK), officially Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf Airport, opened in the 1940s and operates a single passenger terminal serving a medium-sized regional hub in the Vale do Paraíba. The airport is important for business and aerospace travel thanks to its proximity to Embraer and local tech parks, and it handles scheduled domestic flights rather than large international services. Located roughly 10 km from downtown São José dos Campos and about 90 km from central São Paulo, SJK is well connected by the Presidente Dutra highway (BR-116) with regular buses, taxis and car rental options. Not a major airline hub, SJK is regularly served by domestic carriers such as Azul, LATAM and Gol and is generally considered an affordable option for regional travel compared with the larger São Paulo airports.
