Rotterdam The Hague Airport opened in 1956 and sits in the Zestienhoven district as a compact, easy-to-navigate regional gateway for Rotterdam and nearby The Hague. The airport operates from a single terminal with a modest number of gates, serving short-haul and holiday routes rather than long-haul traffic. It’s well connected by frequent express buses to Rotterdam Central (around 20–25 minutes) and reachable by car or public transport to The Hague in roughly 30–40 minutes, with quick motorway links. Generally more affordable than Amsterdam Schiphol for short routes, it’s a base for Transavia and regularly served by KLM Cityhopper and holiday carriers such as TUI.
