Picton Aerodrome, sometimes called Koromiko Aerodrome, was established in the 1930s and serves as a compact regional gateway to the Marlborough Sounds with a single small terminal and basic passenger facilities. Compact but important for local travel, it handles short scheduled hops and scenic charters, particularly frequent services into Wellington and sightseeing flights over the Sounds. The aerodrome sits just a few kilometres south of Picton town and the ferry terminals, reachable by a short drive, taxi or limited local bus links, and offers modest parking and shuttle options. Generally affordable for travelers due to simple facilities and low fees, it is a base for regional carrier Sounds Air and several charter operators.
