Orlando Executive

Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) opened in 1928 as Herndon Field and today operates a single small passenger/general aviation terminal, serving as a compact reliever airport for the greater Orlando area. Though much smaller than Orlando International, ORL is important for business jets, charters and regional operators, and sits just a few miles from downtown Orlando with easy access by taxi, rideshare, local bus links and nearby highways—making it a convenient gateway for short trips. Generally seen as an affordable alternative for private and regional travelers compared with larger airports, ORL has no major airline hub but hosts several charter and regional carriers and multiple FBOs.
