Loreto Airport opened in the mid-20th century and remains a compact regional gateway to Loreto and Baja California Sur, with a single small terminal and one runway that handles domestic and some seasonal international flights. As the main entry point for visitors to the Sea of Cortez and the Loreto National Marine Park, it’s small but important for tourism, with taxis, shuttles and rental-car connections roughly 8 km from downtown Loreto and limited bus service to nearby towns. Fares can be mid‑range to slightly higher in peak season due to limited capacity; regional carriers such as Aeroméxico Connect and Calafia Airlines operate regular services, with occasional seasonal low-cost flights.
