Kidjang Airport opened in the early 2000s and operates a single terminal, functioning as the principal regional gateway to Tanjung Pinang and Indonesia’s Bintan Island. Small but strategically important, the airport handles mainly domestic flights and low-cost connections to Jakarta, Batam and nearby hubs, and is a handy entry point for travelers bound for Bintan resorts via short drives or ferry transfers. Ground links include taxis, hotel shuttles and limited local bus services to the city and ferry terminals, making onward connections straightforward. Generally more affordable than major international airports, Kidjang is routinely served by regional carriers such as Garuda’s regional units, Lion Air and Wings Air.
