Address
Kalibo International Airport, Barangay Pook, Kalibo, Aklan 5600, Western Visayas (Region VI), Philippines
Kalibo International Airport opened as a regional airfield in the 1930s and today operates from a single terminal that handles both domestic and international flights, making it a compact yet busy gateway to nearby Boracay and Aklan province. The airport is an important alternative to the smaller Caticlan port airport, with regular shuttle vans, buses, taxis and private transfers linking Kalibo to Caticlan jetty—roughly 1.5–2 hours by road plus a short boat ride to Boracay. Generally friendlier on budget travelers than some smaller island airports, it’s served frequently by Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines/PAL Express and AirAsia, though it is not a major hub. Recent upgrades in the 2000s improved runway and terminal capacity to accommodate seasonal international charters.
