Kahului Airport

Kahului Airport (OGG), opened in 1952, is Maui’s primary air gateway with two main terminals serving interisland and mainland flights; its compact but busy layout makes it the second-busiest airport in Hawaii and the essential entry point for visitors to central and west Maui. Conveniently located near Kahului town, OGG offers rental cars, taxis, ride‑shares, shuttle services and Maui Bus connections for easy access to resorts and attractions across the island, typically a 20–45 minute drive. Fares can be moderate to high depending on season—though frequent sales make deals possible—and major carriers including Hawaiian Airlines, Southwest, Alaska, American and Delta maintain strong schedules here, with Hawaiian operating a particularly heavy presence.
