Important for visitors to Ikaria’s beaches, mountain villages and famed thermal springs, the airport links the island primarily with Athens and nearby islands via short flights; carriers like Olympic Air (Aegean’s regional brand) and Sky Express are the most frequent operators. Located a short drive from Agios Kirikos and Evdilos, it’s reachable by taxis, car rental and limited local bus services. As a small regional field rather than a hub, it’s generally considered affordable for domestic travel, though fares climb in peak summer.
