Harbin Taiping International Airport

Harbin Taiping International Airport (HRB), opened in 1979, is the main air gateway to Heilongjiang province with two terminals handling a mix of domestic and seasonal international flights; Terminal 2 expanded capacity in recent years to meet winter peak traffic. Located roughly 37 km from downtown Harbin, the airport is linked to the city by airport shuttles, long-distance buses, taxis and expressways, with future metro connections planned, making it easy to reach the Ice Festival and nearby cities. Generally affordable for domestic travelers though international fares rise in peak winter season, HRB functions as a regional base for carriers such as Hainan Airlines and China Southern while hosting regular services from Air China, China Eastern and low-cost operators like Spring Airlines.
