Changchun Longjia International Airport opened in 2005 and has two terminals, serving as the main air gateway to Changchun and Jilin in Northeast China. Mid-sized but strategically important, Longjia handles a mix of domestic and growing international routes and connects the industrial and tourist regions of Jilin province. The airport sits roughly 30 km northeast of Changchun (and about an hour from Jilin) and is linked by the Changchun–Jilin intercity rail, frequent airport shuttle buses and taxi services, making transfers straightforward. Generally considered affordable for travelers with several low-cost and full-service carriers operating, Longjia is an important regional hub served by major Chinese airlines such as Air China, China Eastern, China Southern and Hainan Airlines.

Two currency exchange counters and about eight ATMs cover the basics at Changchun Longjia, with the most reliable machines in the arrivals hall and by the departures check‑in area. For the best value, use a Bank of China or ICBC ATM, decline on‑screen “conversion,” and save larger exchanges for downtown where rates are better and lines are shorter.
Make a beeline for the walk‑through duty‑free after immigration: global beauty labels, fine spirits, and local Jilin ginseng usually cost less than downtown. A compact arrivals shop also opens around incoming flights for quick last‑minute gifts.
From quick dumplings and fried chicken to proper sit‑down Chinese dishes, you’ll find plenty to eat in T2’s airside food court and smaller clusters in T1. Figure on coffee 28–45 RMB, snacks 12–30, and hot meals 45–80 — roughly 15–30% more than in the city.
Need a quick check-up or travel meds before you fly? At Changchun Longjia, medical staff are on hand day and night and pharmacies cluster near Departures, offering free basic first aid plus paid medications and handy travel kits.
Stash your bags at convenient staffed counters on the arrivals and departures levels, then explore Changchun hands‑free. Prices are wallet‑friendly, oversize items are accepted, and pickup is straightforward with a passport and claim tag.
Settle into three spacious gate waiting areas with free Wi‑Fi and plenty of charging spots, or duck into one of two business lounges for a calmer pre‑flight pause. Priority Pass and paid entry are accepted, and the quieter international lounge includes showers for a quick refresh.
