Guanajuato International Airport

Guanajuato International Airport (BJX), opened in 1991 and often called Del Bajío, is a compact yet busy regional airport with a single passenger terminal that handles domestic and growing international traffic. Serving the León metropolitan area and acting as the closest airport for San Miguel de Allende and the city of Guanajuato, BJX sits in Silao and offers car rental desks, taxis, shared shuttles and regional bus links—about 20–35 minutes from León and roughly an hour to San Miguel or Guanajuato city. Popular with budget travelers thanks to numerous low-cost routes, it operates as a focus city for carriers such as Volaris and VivaAerobus while also hosting Aeroméxico and seasonal international services.
