Morelia Airport

Morelia International Airport (MLM), officially General Francisco J. Mújica International, traces its modern passenger facilities back to the mid-1980s and operates from a single compact terminal handling domestic and some international flights. As the main gateway to Morelia and Michoacán, it’s a regional airport of modest size that links the colonial city and nearby attractions like the Monarch Butterfly Reserve with Mexico City and several domestic destinations. It’s about a 25–30 minute drive from downtown with regular shuttles, taxis, car rentals and bus connections to surrounding towns. Fares tend to be budget-friendly thanks to low-cost carriers; it isn’t a major hub but is well served by Aeroméxico, Volaris, VivaAerobus and seasonal charters.
