Colorado Springs Airport opened in 1927 and today operates from a single main terminal with two concourse areas, serving as a midsize regional gateway to southern Colorado and the Pikes Peak region. It’s the city’s primary commercial airport—larger than nearby general aviation fields but far smaller than Denver—handling a mix of mainline and budget carriers. Located roughly 10 miles southeast of downtown Colorado Springs, the airport is easily reached via I-25 with shuttle services, taxis and rideshares and limited local bus links; it’s also convenient for Fort Carson and Peterson/Schriever military bases. Travelers often find fares here more affordable than Denver’s, with regular service from American, United and Delta plus significant low-cost and seasonal flights from carriers such as Allegiant and Frontier.
