Chișinău International Airport

Chișinău International Airport (IATA: KIV) opened in the early 1960s (1962) and operates a single main passenger terminal, making it a compact yet important international gateway for Moldova. As the country’s busiest airport it links Chișinău with European hubs and seasonal destinations, and is about 10–15 km from the city center with regular public buses, shuttle services, taxis and car-rental options for easy access. Generally more affordable than large Western European airports—both fares and on-site prices tend to be budget-friendly—Chișinău serves as the primary base for the national carrier Air Moldova and Moldovan low-cost FlyOne, alongside several seasonal charters.
