Cairo International Airport, Airport Road, Heliopolis, Cairo, Cairo Governorate 11776, Egypt
Cairo International Airport (CAI), opened in 1963, is Egypt’s largest airport and a key gateway to North Africa and the Middle East, featuring three main passenger terminals (Terminals 1–3, with the modern Terminal 3 opened in 2009) and handling a high volume of international and regional traffic. Located about 15 km (9 miles) northeast of downtown Cairo near Nasr City, CAI is well connected by airport buses, taxis and app-based ride-hailing services, with regular shuttle and hotel transfer options for travelers. The airport is generally affordable for flights and ground transport, with many budget routes and competitive fares, and serves as the primary hub for EgyptAir and a base for Nile Air and Air Cairo.
