Borg El Arab Airport

Borg El Arab Airport, opened in the late 1990s, is Alexandria’s primary modern airport with a single main passenger terminal handling domestic and regional traffic; it’s a compact but important gateway for the Nile Delta and Mediterranean coast. Located roughly 40–60 km southwest of central Alexandria near Borg El Arab New City, the airport is best reached by road via the Borg El Arab expressway with regular taxis, private transfers and occasional shuttle buses; rail links are limited. Popular with seasonal charters and low-cost carriers, it’s generally an affordable arrival point. While not a major international hub, it sees regular services from EgyptAir, Air Cairo, FlyEgypt and Nile Air.
