Bern Airport

Bern Airport (BRN), known locally as Bern-Belp, opened in 1929 and remains a compact regional gateway with a single passenger terminal serving the Swiss capital. Small but strategically placed, it handles regional scheduled services, business flights and seasonal charters, and acts as a base for regional carriers such as Helvetic Airways alongside a rotating roster of leisure airlines. Located about 10–15 km south of Bern, the airport is linked to the city by a direct bus service to Bern main station (roughly 20–30 minutes) and good road connections via the A6, making transfers straightforward. Fares can be mid-range to slightly higher than large hubs, though occasional cheap deals and charter specials appear.
