Historically important before Otopeni grew, Băneasa remains a handy option for travelers headed to northern neighborhoods, Băneasa shopping areas and Herăstrău Park, reachable by car, taxi, local buses and a short transfer from the Aurel Vlaicu metro stop. It’s not a major airline hub—more a base for charters and small operators—and with fewer low-cost routes fares can be slightly higher than Otopeni’s budget options.
