Opened in 1947 and named for local aviation hero Chuck Yeager, Yeager Airport is Charleston, West Virginia’s compact regional gateway, centered around a single terminal with a handful of gates that handle mainly domestic flights. As the primary airport for the Kanawha Valley, it’s important for business and leisure travelers and offers convenient ground access via I‑64 with taxis, rideshares and limited shuttle or bus links to downtown Charleston. Yeager isn’t a hub but is served by regional affiliates of American, Delta and United and occasional low-cost carriers like Allegiant; parking and facilities are generally affordable, though fares can vary with limited competition.
