Located roughly 25–30 km from downtown Xining, it’s accessible by regular airport shuttle buses, taxis and highway connections to Xining Railway Station (high-speed rail), though there’s no metro link. The airport handles mostly domestic routes and is generally considered affordable for travelers compared with China’s major hubs, with competitive fares on frequent services by Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and regional carriers that use Xining as a focus city.
