Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (IATA: XMN), opened in 1983, is the main gateway to Xiamen and Fujian’s coast, serving domestic and regional international routes with two main passenger terminals and a compact, easy-to-navigate layout. As a mid-sized but strategically important airport, XMN handles a steady mix of business and tourist traffic bound for Gulangyu Island and the Minnan region. Ground connections are convenient: airport expressways, regular city buses, taxis and the Xiamen metro link the airport to downtown in roughly 20–30 minutes. XiamenAir operates its primary hub here; fares tend to be competitive compared with larger Chinese hubs, with good value on domestic routes.
